Chamberlin Healthcare Center was recognized as the second largest nursing facility in Hamilton County during the first quarter of 2026, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) reported.

The facility offered 162 beds, which exceeded the county average by 65 beds in the first quarter. The center cared for an average of 158 residents during this time frame.

The CMS assigned Chamberlin Healthcare Center an overall score of 4 out of 5, outpacing the Ohio nursing home average of 3.2.

For that quarter, The Chateau at Mountain Crest Nursing & Rehab Center was the largest nursing home in the county, with 167 beds, while Meadowbrook Care Center followed Chamberlin, offering 146 beds.

During the first quarter of 2026, Chamberlin Healthcare Center reported no fines or penalties.

Altogether, Hamilton County, Ohio, was home to 59 for-profit nursing homes.

According to U.S. Census Bureau estimates, the population of older adults in the United States continues to rise as younger groups decrease. From 2020 to 2024, Americans age 65 and over grew by 13%, while those under age 18 declined by 1.7%. The older adult demographic has surged over the last 100 years, expanding from 4.9 million in 1920 to more than 61 million by 2024.

A 2021 study indicates nearly half of those in this age bracket, about 28 million people, could need long-term services and support. That same study forecasts over one-third may eventually require nursing home care.

“Living a long life is something that many of us want and could get,” said Jesse Slome, executive director of the American Association for Long-Term Care Insurance, an organization focused on insurance education. “But when we live a long life, the chances of us needing long-term care increase exponentially. But when you need that type of care, there are limited options.”
