U.S. Congressman Greg Landsman, who represents Ohio’s 1st district, posted a series of statements on August 9, 2025, emphasizing his views on Social Security and tax reform.

In one post, Landsman wrote, “Let’s be clear: Social Security is your money. You’ve earned these benefits. You deserve not just your full benefits – but also excellent service.” (August 9, 2025).

He continued in a subsequent message: “We can pay for it. We just need to fix the tax code by making sure those at the top are paying their fair share.” (August 9, 2025).

Addressing seniors specifically, Landsman stated: “I believe seniors need a real tax break. Yes, we should eliminate the federal tax on Social Security benefits, but we should also provide additional relief, especially on property taxes.” (August 9, 2025).

Landsman has served in Congress since replacing Steve Chabot in 2023 as the representative for Ohio’s 1st district. He was born in Cincinnati in 1976 and continues to reside there. He graduated from Ohio University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1999.
