Congressman Greg Landsman, who represents Ohio’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of messages on November 13, 2025, criticizing recently passed congressional budget legislation and its impact on healthcare funding for his constituents.
In his first post, Landsman stated: “The American people wanted the government to reopen with their healthcare protected. What Congress just passed doesn’t do that and it doesn’t represent the priorities of folks in Southwest Ohio.” (November 13, 2025)
He continued by expressing concern for residents in his district facing increased costs: “I can’t let down the 32,00 people in my district now facing skyrocketing healthcare costs. Their tax dollars should be spent on them, and I’ll keep fighting to make sure they get the healthcare funding they need.” (November 13, 2025)
Landsman also noted efforts made to address these issues through legislative amendments: “We submitted 12 amendments to this budget to address healthcare, food assistance, and tariffs. Every single one was rejected.” (November 13, 2025)
Greg Landsman has served as the representative for Ohio’s 1st District since replacing Steve Chabot in 2023. Born in Cincinnati in 1976 and a graduate of Ohio University in 1999 with a BA degree, Landsman has focused much of his recent legislative work on advocating for healthcare support within his community.
