In recent tweets, he elaborated on the necessity of Ukraine’s victory and the potential global implications involved.
On April 25th, 2025, Congressman Landsman stated that “Ukraine has to win. Appeasing a dictator was a catastrophic failure in the 1930s in Europe, and it will be a catastrophic failure again. This is about strength versus weakness, and we need strength.” He drew historical parallels between past policies of appeasement and current geopolitical dynamics to emphasize the importance of strength in foreign policy.
In a subsequent tweet, published seconds later, Landsman suggested strategic measures, indicating that “We can help Ukraine win this war by forcing Putin out of their country, and ensure Ukraine gets security guarantees to prevent this from happening again. It also means the return of over 35,000 stolen children from Ukraine to their homes and families.” His statement underscored not only military support but also humanitarian aspects needing resolution.
Further criticizing past strategies, especially those associated with former President Trump, Landsman commented on the same date that “Russia wants more war in Ukraine and Eastern Europe. Trump’s losing strategy of appeasement will only embolden Putin – leading to more war, suffering, and instability.
