Congressman Greg Landsman, who represents Ohio’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress, recently posted a series of tweets outlining his views on tax policy and Social Security. In these messages, Landsman focused on who would benefit from proposed tax changes and called for broader reforms.

On August 9, 2025, Landsman wrote that “2. It only applies to a small group of people— Those who are working and earning between $80,000 and $130,000 will benefit the most. Also – it only lasts two years.” He followed this by advocating for comprehensive tax reform: “That means passing a real tax plan – One that makes the super wealthy pay what they owe, so we can provide tax relief to everyone. Including those who pay into Social Security.”

In another post from the same day, he emphasized Congressional action regarding Social Security: “We need a Congress that will reinvest in Social Security: Protect your benefits Deliver better service And actually cut taxes for seniors”

Landsman has served as U.S. Representative for Ohio’s 1st District since 2023 after succeeding Steve Chabot. Born in Cincinnati in 1976 and currently residing there, Landsman graduated from Ohio University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1999.
