Congressman Greg Landsman, currently serving Ohio’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress, has recently shared several updates on social media regarding his legislative efforts and personal reflections. The tweets from March 12, 2025, highlight his involvement in advocating for parental leave, commemorating a local figure’s contributions, and supporting retired public service workers.

On March 12, 2025, Congressman Landsman expressed support for parental leave by signing a discharge petition that allows new parents in Congress to vote by proxy for up to 12 weeks after their child’s birth. He emphasized the importance of paid parental leave for all parents. “Parental leave is so important for supporting parents and families.”

Later that day, he paid tribute to Gwen Robinson, a prominent figure in Southwest Ohio known for her dedication to helping others. In his tweet, Landsman described Robinson as “a giant who made SW Ohio better.” “There aren’t enough words to capture the impact of Gwen Robinson—a dear friend and an incredible person who dedicated her life to helping others.”

In another post on the same day, Congressman Landsman highlighted the efforts of thousands of retired teachers, firefighters, nurses, police officers, and letter carriers who rallied Congress to pass the Social Security Fairness Act. He acknowledged their contribution to pushing forward a discharge petition necessary for this legislative achievement. “Thousands of retired teachers…rallied Congress to pass the Social Security Fairness Act.”
