Congressman Greg Landsman, representing Ohio’s 1st district since 2023, shared his thoughts on tax policy through a series of tweets on May 20, 2025. These posts outline his proposals for tax reforms aimed at benefiting working individuals and families while addressing the national deficit.

In his first tweet, Congressman Landsman emphasized the importance of providing tax cuts to specific groups. He stated, “First, give tax cuts to everyone who needs it: Working folks Middle Class families Small businesses Farmers”. This suggests a focus on aiding those who are perceived as foundational to the economy.

Following this, he proposed changes to three key tax provisions. In his words, “….Change 3 tax provisions: Do a simple billionaire minimum tax, increase the corporate tax rate by a few points, let the tax cuts for the top wage earners expire.” This indicates an intention to adjust taxes in a way that would impact wealthier individuals and corporations more significantly.

Lastly, Congressman Landsman addressed concerns about fiscal responsibility and healthcare. He wrote, “Second, don’t add trillions to the deficit or take healthcare away from 14 million Americans. Instead…” This implies a commitment to maintaining healthcare coverage while managing the national budget prudently.

Greg Landsman was born in Cincinnati in 1976 and graduated from Ohio University in 1999 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. He resides in Cincinnati and succeeded Steve Chabot as a U.S. Congress member in 2023.
