Congressman Greg Landsman, who represents Ohio’s 1st district, has recently taken to social media to express his concerns over various pressing issues. Landsman, a Cincinnati native and graduate of Ohio University, has been vocal about the challenges facing his constituency since taking office in 2023.

On May 19, 2025, Landsman addressed the impact of federal funding cuts on Southwest Ohio. He emphasized that these cuts are “devastating for Southwest Ohio,” affecting people, programs, and jobs. He stated that efforts are underway to restore funding so organizations like “@ArtWorksCincy, @Breakthrough513, and @AmeriCorps can keep serving our kids and communities.”

In a subsequent post on May 20, 2025, Landsman expressed concern over actions he deemed as weaponizing the Department of Justice. He described it as “outrageous” and said it “sets a dangerous precedent.” According to him, this move is “criminalizing the constitutional obligation of Members of Congress to provide basic oversight.”

Later that day, Landsman mentioned former President Donald Trump’s planned visit to Capitol Hill. He posed a hypothetical scenario about what Trump might say to congressional Republicans with an introduction stating: “Trump is coming to Capitol Hill tomorrow. What if he told congressional Republicans the following.”

Greg Landsman’s public statements highlight ongoing concerns related to federal policies’ impact on local communities and broader national governance issues.
