ST JAMES EPISCOPAL CHURCH-WESTWOOD: Christmas Shopping for Cincinnati Urban Promise

Christmas2

St James Episcopal Church-Westwood issued the following announcement on Nov. 3.

Christmas Shopping for Cincinnati Urban Promise

St James is collecting Christmas gifts for families at Cincinnati Urban Promise (CUP). CUP will have a Christmas store where families can shop for presents for their children. We would like to help stock this shop. We will not collect clothing, except for hats, scarfs and gloves. Please keep in mind cultural competencies: most families are African American or Latino; about 10% are white. Gift suggestions:

Ages 0-5: Age-appropriate books, educational toys, blankets, hats/scarves/gloves, hygiene products

Ages 6-12: Age-appropriate books, dolls, action figures, educational toys, hats/scarves/gloves, blankets, hygiene products, appropriate movies or other media, accessories

Ages 13-18: Fashion accessories, gift cards, appropriate technology, music, movies, athletic equipment, blankets, hats/scarves/gloves

We also want to collect wrapping paper, ribbon and tape.

We need all gifts no later than Sunday, November 29. Please drop off unwrapped gifts on the front porch of Nancy Jacob's home, 3876 Deerpath Lane, or Laura Kennedy's home, 3028 Ramona Ave. All financial contributions are needed by Sunday, November 22. If you would like Nancy to shop for you, please give her any funds you want to contribute by Sunday, November 22. There are several ways to donate funds:

Give cash directly to Nancy.

Send Nancy funds via Venmo. Contact her for information.

Send a check to church (made out to St. James with CUP in the memo line).

Donate via the St. James website (www.stjamescincy.org). If you do this, please also let Nancy know the amount.

Contact Nancy Jacob for more information at 513-608-5718. To learn more about the good works CUP does here in Westwood, check out their website: https://cincinnatiurbanpromise.org/.
