City of Harrison recently issued the following announcement.
Local utilities provider Duke Energy has provided the following resources to help Harrison residents get through the winter months.
AVOIDING UTILITY SCAMS
Duke Energy warns consumers of scam phone calls that may appear legitimate. The caller ID may even read "Duke Energy." Upon answering the call, an urgent voice insists that electric or natural gas service is being disconnected in 30 minutes unless payment is made immediately over the phone. Duke Energy says to hang up immediately. Learn more.
MANAGING ENERGY USE AND COSTS
Winter brings colder weather, which can bring higher energy bills. That’s especially true for natural gas customers, as natural gas prices are rising across the globe. These rising prices could have impacts for some electric customers, too. Duke Energy's money-saving programs, tips and guidance can help control energy usage and reduce energy bills.
