Jenn Giroux, who is running for a seat to represent the 27th District, opposes the radical Leftist indoctrination of children in school. 

Giroux reminded educators to delineate and define matters which they can only teach children. She advises parents to stand up for their rights.

“The best thing that I ever saw is when all these liberal preschool teachers were bragging on TikTok about what they were doing to indoctrinate the kid that’s coming from their own mouth," she said. "Sure. You know, it’s not about censorship, but it’s about their subjectivity over their own perverse sexual practices that are coming into the teaching of our children. It’s not right. And teachers need to know there are boundaries that you do not cross. And I’ll say on a final note, I say that every parent, every parent should stop into the school unannounced anytime they want to participate and listen in the back of the classroom. If the school doesn’t want you to do that, get your kid out of that school. I truly believe that. I stopped randomly a lot when it came to my daughter. And, you know, if they have something to hide, then it’s important to find that out. You know, parents are in charge of their kids' education. I mean, the graphic material they’re giving, even the high school kids to read is just borderline pornography, if not straight up pornographic.”

In a video posted on Twitter by the account Libs of TikTok, a woman recorded a video telling parents “stay the f*** out of classrooms.” She argued that if teaching children about sexual orientation is the parents’ job, many kids will not learn about it until their teenage years. The woman claimed that this happened to her and that she has depression because of it. This woman was unequivocal in her view that schools need to teach children about sexual orientation and related topics and that parents needs to stay out of the way.

Conservative commentator Matt Walsh points out the fact that while most parents want their children in public schools to learn facts about the world, like math, history and science, the school system sees its mission as instilling a certain set of values and beliefs into the children. This set of beliefs is radical, Left-wing beliefs that most parents oppose. Walsh said that the point of public schools is for the state to indoctrinate the next generation of children, and he implored parents to get their children out of the schools. He played a video of a preschool teacher saying on TikTok that she is “uncomfortable” around the American flag. The same teacher also had numerous pride flags in her room. Walsh said these are the people who make up the public schools, and parents must not put their kids in the system.

Controversial books were also previously found in public schools and calls for the banning of these books are becoming louder in Ohio and across the country. The Hudson County School District has recently removed four books that have content described as "inappropriate," "offensive" or "sexually perverse," according to News 5 Cleveland. The books “642 Things to Write About,” “A Girl on the Shore” “Gender Queer” and “Lawn Boy” talk about gender identity and both homosexual and heterosexual couples having sex; these books were meant for high schoolers. 

Parent Katie Paris backs such books, saying kids need to “learn other perspectives that may not necessarily be your own.” This debate has gone all way to the Ohio State Legislature with the introduction of House Bill N.O. 327, which has been dubbed the “divisive concepts” bill. It seeks to ban the teaching of topics that may be deemed controversial. However, not everyone is on board, with some legislatures being wary that the bill grants the state too much power. However, proponents of the bill say they want to focus mainly on gender identity and critical race theory.

Giroux is also a business owner and has been running The Catholic Shop in Madeira together with her husband Dan Giroux for 20 years. She said it is actually more than a business, it's a "vocation, a ministry, a calling." She also opposes abortion and firmly believes that each child deserves a good education, according to Cincy Reporter. Giroux believes that the 27th District is a conservative district. The district includes parts of Cincinnati, Anderson Indian Hill, Simms Township and Hyde Park.
