The City of Harrison is working with Hamilton County and Harrison Township to improve traffic flow at the Dry Fork Road and I-74 interchange.
The first phase the Dry Fork Road Corridor Project, slated for 2025 or 2026, includes widening the bridge and adding left turn lanes onto I-74. It would also include widening the westbound off-ramp.
“Traffic studies indicate that these steps will have the most immediate and greatest impact improving safety and congestion,” said Streets Department Director Jim Leslie.
The City is accepting Letters of Interest for the project from qualified engineering consulting firms. Requested information must be submitted to the City of Harrison no later than 3:00 p.m. EST on September 22, 2022. Related documents are provided below.
The City plans to use grants to finance the estimated construction cost of $6.5 million.
Future phases of the project include widening Dry Fork Road in both directions, increasing storage along the eastbound off-ramp and installing ramp meters for both eastbound and westbound I-74 ramps.
