Free interactive mental health presentation 'NAMI In Our Own Voice' on 9/29
The City of Blue Ash in partnership with the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Southwest Ohio will present ‘NAMI In Our Own Voice,’ an interactive presentation to change attitudes, assumptions, and stereotypes about people with mental health conditions.
The free event is open to the public and will take place on September 29, from 7:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Blue Ash Recreation Center, 4433 Cooper Road.
‘NAMI In Our Own Voice’ combines video and trained NAMI presenters who will talk about their mental health journey.
The presenters humanize the misunderstood, highly stigmatized topic of mental illness by showing that it's possible—and common—to live well with a mental health condition.
This presentation also provides:
- A chance to ask presenters questions, allowing for a deeper understanding of mental health conditions and dispelling of stereotypes and misconceptions.
- The understanding that every person with a mental health condition can hope for a brighter future.
- Information on how to learn more about mental health and get involved with the mental health community.
This is the second year the program has been presented in Blue Ash.
