Congressman Greg Landsman, who represents Ohio’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress, expressed concerns on September 19, 2025, about the impact of a potential government shutdown on workers, veterans, small businesses, and the broader economy.

In a series of posts on his official account, Landsman stated: "It's terrible for workers, veterans, small businesses, and the economy." (September 19, 2025). He further highlighted the consequences for federal employees by writing: "Millions of federal workers will have to go to work and not get paid, or they'll be sent home and not get paid." (September 19, 2025).

Landsman also pointed out additional effects: "Small businesses can’t access federal grants they rely on, veterans won’t get all the care they need, and historically, government shutdowns have always hurt the economy." (September 19, 2025).

Greg Landsman has served as the representative for Ohio’s 1st district since replacing Steve Chabot in 2023. Born in Cincinnati in 1976 and currently residing there at age 46, Landsman is an alumnus of Ohio University with a Bachelor of Arts degree earned in 1999.
