The University of Cincinnati celebrated its largest spring graduating class with four commencement ceremonies held over two days at Fifth Third Arena and Nippert Stadium, according to a May 4 announcement. The events brought together thousands of spectators who cheered on the university’s 7,836 graduates.

This year’s graduation follows a record-setting fall class that helped boost the university’s enrollment to more than 53,000 students. The large turnout reflects ongoing growth at the institution.

Photographer Phil Didion from The Cincinnati Enquirer captured moments from the morning ceremony, showing students celebrating despite rainy weather. According to the university, “students didn’t let a little rain dampen their enthusiasm.” The photographs documented hugs and celebrations among graduates in front of family members.

As enrollment numbers continue to rise and graduation classes reach new highs, observers may expect continued growth in future ceremonies.
