Graduates earn 606 degrees, certificates from the Union Institute & University

About 46.2 percent of the 606 degrees and certificates handed out by the Union Institute & University in 2017-18 were to students in homeland security, law enforcement, firefighting and related protective services programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the private not-for-profit institution in Cincinnati conferred 280 bachelor's degrees in homeland security, law enforcement, firefighting and related protective services programs.

But the single most popular program was for a bachelor's degree in criminal justice/law enforcement administration. Data shows the school gave out 236 bachelor's degrees in criminal justice/law enforcement administration, followed by 136 bachelor's degrees in child care and support services management and 44 bachelor's degrees in crisis/emergency/disaster management.

The university enrolled 925 students for 2017-18, including 657 in undergraduate programs and 268 in graduate programs.
