Filming begins this week in Cincinnati of a movie adaptation of John Green's best-selling novel, "Turtles All the Way Down," WLWT reported.
Green is also the author of "The Fault in Our Stars," which was also adapted into a movie and was a box-office hit in 2014, the station reported.
"We are so excited to have 'Turtles All the Way Down' film here in Cincinnati," said Kristen Schlotman, executive director of Film Cincinnati.
Isabela Merced stars in "Turtles All the Way Down," which is being directed by Hannah Marks with scriptwriters Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger. They served as co-showrunners for "This Is Us" and they wrote the screenplay for "Love, Simon," WLWT reported.
"With the Regina King film 'Shirley' wrapping up production earlier this month, we're ready to welcome the next feature to Cincinnati to take advantage of our resources of talented cast, skilled crew and prime locations," Schlotman told the station.
Merced has appeared in movies such as "Instant Family," "Dora and the Lost City of Gold," and "Sicario: Day of the Soldado," the radio report said. She was also in the Netflix film "Sweet Girl" with Jason Momoa.
The filming will take about two months at locations throughout the city, WLWT reported.
