90 coaches at institutions in Hamilton County earned $142,546 on average in 2022

Hamilton County’s 90 coaches earned an average salary of $142,546 in 2022, according to the U.S. Department of Education.

This is the fifth highest average salary per county earned by coaches at Ohio post-secondary schools during 2022.

Hamilton County is home to three post-secondary schools that paid coaches during 2022. Among them, Xavier University stood out with the highest average coaching salary of $353,568.

Male coaches of men's teams received $233,244 on average in Hamilton County, while female coaches in charge of women's teams earned an average of $113,630.

Research from the Vanderbilt Owen Graduate School of Management found NCAA coaches are compensated like CEOs, with top coaches earning more than $1.5 million annually.
