Congressman Greg Landsman, representing Ohio's 1st district, shared a series of tweets on February 3, 2025, expressing his views on the responsibilities of Congress in addressing current national issues. He emphasized the constitutional obligations of Congress and its role as a check on the Presidency and Executive Branch.

In one tweet, Landsman stated, "It’s very clear who has to fix this. Congress is controlled by Republicans and they have a constitutional obligation to step up and put these fires out." This statement highlights his belief that the Republican-controlled Congress must take action to resolve pressing matters.

Another tweet from the same day underlines the role envisioned by the founders of the United States. Landsman wrote, "Our founders wrote the Constitution for moments like this…but it requires Republicans in charge of Congress to act. The Constitution separated powers, with Congress to serve as a check on the Presidency and Executive Branch." Here, he stresses the importance of Congressional oversight as intended by the framers of the Constitution.

Lastly, Congressman Landsman commented on how Democrats perceive current challenges. He tweeted, "Democrats can call this out, and talk about how bad this is for the people and communities we serve; How bad it is for the country we love; How bad it is for the world and our national security." This remark points out Democratic concerns regarding impacts on communities and national security.
