Congressman Greg Landsman, who represents Ohio’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress, addressed recent events involving Charlie Kirk in a series of posts on September 11, 2025.

In his initial post, Landsman wrote, "What happened yesterday to Charlie Kirk was horrifying. It’s not something you should have seen, and it shouldn’t have happened. 5 ways we can work through this moment. " (September 11, 2025).

He continued his thread with the following statement: "2. Whether it’s who we are or not is less important than the fact that this is not who we want to be." (September 11, 2025).

In another message posted the same day, Landsman added: "1. None of this violence is normal. That's true for school shootings and political violence – violence in general. The fact that gun violence is the #1 cause of death for children is wrong. It’s all wrong." (September 11, 2025).

Greg Landsman has served as a member of Congress since replacing Steve Chabot in 2023 and represents Ohio's 1st District from Cincinnati. Born in Cincinnati in 1976, Landsman graduated from Ohio University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1999.
