Cincinnati Parks Hosts Great Lakes Diamond Regional Pickleball Tournament July 27-30

USA Pickleball’s Great Lakes Diamond Regional Tournament comes to Cincinnati’s Sawyer Point, recently named to one of 25 Great Places to Play by Pickleball Magazine, Thursday, from July 27- Sunday, July 30.

Participants include more than 600 players of all ages primarily from the Great Lakes Region (Ohio, Indiana and Michigan). This tournament is a qualifier for the USA Pickleball’s National Diamond Amateur Championship, which will be held in December at Pictona at Holly Hill, Florida. Gold and silver medalists in all brackets will earn Diamond Passports to the championship.

Play Schedule

· Thursday, July 27: 8 am-7 pm, senior (50+) men’s and women’s doubles.

· Friday, July 28: 8 am-7 pm, under-50 men’s doubles and women’s singles.

· Saturday, July 29: 8 am-7 pm, all ages mixed doubles.

· Sunday, July 30: 8 am-7 pm, under-50 women’s doubles and men’s singles.

All are welcome. Spectators may view all of the action for free. Food trucks and beverages will be available for purchase. After tournament play has concluded, the courts will be available for open group play until 10 PM.

Cincinnati Parks is also presenting its Amped Up Concert Series on Friday & Saturday evenings from 6-10 p.m. at Schott Pavilion (adjacent to the pickleball courts). Vinyl Countdown will perform Friday evening, and Just Add Beer performs Saturday evening.

Sponsors include Land Rover Cincinnati (regional), TriHealth/Beacon Orthopedics, Neyra Industries, (national) Franklin Pickleball, Fortune Tires, Gamma Pickleball, Polar Beverages and Pickleball Rocks.
