U.S. Congressman Greg Landsman, representing Ohio's 1st district, has taken to social media to express concerns over recent layoffs and to offer constituent services. Congressman Landsman, who began serving in 2023, shared several updates over social media regarding employment and community assistance at local events in early April 2025.
On April 4, 2025, Congressman Landsman criticized a recent administrative decision, stating, "This administration fired 423 SW Ohioans from NIOSH. Over 100 members of Congress joined our letter demanding they get their jobs back."
Three days later, on April 7, 2025, he highlighted an initiative assisting residents during tax season. As indicated in his message, "It’s tax season and we’re here to help. We’ll be at the Madisonville Public Library tomorrow, April 8th from 11am - 3pm to assist with any IRS return issues, VA benefits, passport needs, and more!"
Further detailing the job cuts, on April 7, 2025, Congressman Landsman expanded on the effects of the layoffs at the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH). He stated, "Every day, NIOSH employees help protect workers from injury and illness. But Trump and @HHSGov Secretary Kennedy fired 1,500 of them, including over 400 from SW Ohio. That’s why we sent a letter – backed by more than 100 of my colleagues and over a dozen labor organizations – "
