Congressman Greg Landsman, who has been serving Ohio's 1st district since 2023, shared a series of tweets on May 12, 2025, expressing concerns over proposed cuts to healthcare funding and their implications for vulnerable populations.

In his first tweet, Landsman highlighted that the proposed budget "cuts $715 billion in healthcare funding." He warned that such significant reductions could lead to hospital closures, doctors ceasing their practices, and a loss of access to healthcare for many individuals.

In a subsequent post on the same day, he addressed the impact on state-funded care facilities. According to Landsman, these changes would make it more challenging for states to fund hospitals, nursing homes, and facilities supporting people with intellectual disabilities. He noted that these institutions heavily rely on Medicaid funding and expressed concern about states' inability to cover the resulting financial gaps.

Finally, in another tweet from May 12, Landsman pointed out that the proposed measures would raise healthcare costs for low-income individuals. He emphasized that those earning less than $16,000 annually would be particularly affected by increased expenses when visiting doctors. Landsman described this situation as "cruel," noting its disproportionate impact on those already struggling financially.

Greg Landsman was born in Cincinnati in 1976 and graduated from Ohio University in 1999. He resides in Cincinnati and succeeded Steve Chabot as the representative of Ohio's 1st district.
