Congressman Greg Landsman, representing Ohio’s 1st district since 2023, shared his views on recent legislative proposals through a series of tweets on May 20, 2025. His statements addressed concerns about healthcare, tax relief, and fiscal responsibility.
In a tweet posted at 01:02 UTC, Congressman Landsman emphasized the importance of comprehensive tax relief without compromising essential services. He stated: "Bottom line: tax relief for everyone who needs it, no one loses their healthcare or food assistance, no cuts to pensions, and no deficit spending. This would be a very smart, very popular bill."
Later that day at 13:23 UTC, he criticized another legislative proposal by highlighting its potential impact on healthcare access. He remarked: "When you take healthcare from 14 million Americans, which this bill does, people will die. When you take billions from hospitals, some will close. This is a terrible bill."
Continuing his critique at 14:13 UTC, Landsman expressed strong disapproval of the proposed changes to Medicaid and the Affordable Care Act. He warned of severe consequences if the bill were enacted: "They already fucked around with Medicaid. 14 million will lose healthcare if this bill passes. 9 from Medicaid. 5 from the Affordable Care Act. This is a dumpster fire of a bill. Americans will suffer." He concluded with an urgent plea to lawmakers: "Kill the bill, not Americans."
Greg Landsman was born in Cincinnati in 1976 and has been serving as U.S Congress member for Ohio's first district since replacing Steve Chabot in 2023.
