U.S. Congressman Greg Landsman, who represents Ohio’s 1st district, outlined several legislative efforts related to immigration and border security in a series of tweets posted on July 23, 2025.
In one tweet, Landsman described the provisions of a proposed bill: "The bill would:
Invest in infrastructure barriers and surveillance to control border crossings
Speed up the asylum decision making process
Crack down on fraud and require all employees to use e-verification to confirm that workers are here legally.
Build new regional" (July 23, 2025).
He also referenced the passage of the Dignity Act, stating: "We pass the Dignity Act.
This is a bipartisan bill, introduced by a Republican, would provide undocumented individuals with a pathway to citizenship.
Those folks who meet certain requirements and are working have a pathway to legal immigration." (July 23, 2025).
Additionally, Landsman mentioned another legislative proposal aimed at supporting young immigrants: "There’s also the Bipartisan American Dream and Promise Act that creates a pathway for citizenship for Dreamers.
These are people who were brought here when they were children and have been in the United States for a very long time." (July 23, 2025).
Greg Landsman has served as U.S. Representative for Ohio's 1st District since 2023 after succeeding Steve Chabot. Born in Cincinnati in 1976, Landsman continues to reside there. He graduated from Ohio University with a bachelor's degree in 1999.
