Congressman Greg Landsman, who represents Ohio’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress, warned in a series of posts on September 18, 2025, about the potential consequences if ACA tax credits are allowed to expire.

In one post, Landsman stated: "If the tax credits expire, 4.2 million people nationwide and 500,000 people in Ohio will be forced to pay more for their healthcare. 120,000 Ohioans will lose their healthcare altogether." (September 18, 2025).

He further emphasized the broader impact by posting: "Letting the ACA tax credits expire would hurt millions — especially kids, families, seniors, veterans, and people with disabilities." (September 18, 2025).

Addressing potential legislative solutions, Landsman added: "There’s still time to fix this. Congress should do everything we can to pass a responsible, bipartisan budget, renew the ACA tax credits, and avoid a shutdown." (September 18, 2025).

Landsman's remarks come as lawmakers face decisions on federal funding and health care provisions amid ongoing budget negotiations. The Affordable Care Act's tax credits have been critical for making health coverage more affordable for millions of Americans.

Landsman has represented Ohio's 1st District since replacing Steve Chabot in 2023. He was born in Cincinnati in 1976 and graduated from Ohio University in 1999 with a BA.
