City of Loveland recently issued the following announcement.

Sparks will fly Valentine’s Day weekend in Loveland, the “Sweetheart of Ohio.” The activity schedule for Hearts Afire Weekend, the new city-wide event debuting Feb. 11-13, has been released.

The weekend features elements of fire and ice with sparks of love-inspired activities. Many free events will be hosted throughout Historic Downtown Loveland and along the Loveland-Madeira Corridor. Most will take place on Saturday, Feb. 12. An event schedule is posted at LovinLifeLoveland.com.

Featured activities include

  • Ice Carving Demonstrations
  • Ice Sculpture Walking Tour
  • Fire Twirling Performers
  • Eskimo Kisses Game Village
  • Heartland Craft Market
  • Vow Renewal Ceremonies
  • Fireworks
The ice activities are a key element of Hearts Afire. This is one of the only ice events happening in Greater Cincinnati this winter! Two live demonstrations by Master Carvers, as well as a self-guided ice sculpture walking tour will take place on Saturday, Feb. 12. Approximately 20 unique ice designs will be featured in the tour.

In addition, local businesses will warm up the weekend with shopping and dining specials, as well as unique events. Some of the fun includes:

  • “Galentine” Night
  • Speed Dating
  • Mask-erade Ball
  • Chasing Cupid 5K
  • Charity Date Auction
“Many say that Loveland feels like a Hallmark movie in February because of our name,” said Mayor Kathy Bailey. “Since our town is nicknamed the ‘Sweetheart of Ohio,’ we officially wanted to hold an event to celebrate and invite everyone to visit us!

Event updates will continue to be posted at LovinLifeLoveland.com. For questions about the 2022 Hearts Afire Weekend, please contact Misty Brents at Loveland City Hall at (513) 707-1437.
