City of Cincinnati recently issued the following announcement.
Collins Avenue at Riverside Drive in the East End will be closed for approximately five months beginning Monday, March 21, for repairs to the railroad bridge above it.
For safety reasons, this short stretch of road also will be closed to pedestrians and bicyclists for the duration of the project.
Motorists traveling on Riverside will be detoured to Columbia Parkway via Delta Avenue. Motorists heading south on Collins will be detoured via William Howard Taft Road.
Repairs include concrete work on the bridge’s abutments and its structural steel beams. Crews also will repaint the bridge after the repairs are completed.
The contractor is Prus Construction. The bridge is owned by SORTA/Metro Bus.
