On January 22, 2025, Congressman Landsman commented on an incident involving a gesture that was perceived by some as a Hitler salute. He stated: "I can’t tell you for sure whether or not it was a Hitler salute. It didn’t look great and if you look at his track record, it's also not great."

Later the same day, he addressed the topic of border security with emphasis on humane practices. In his tweet from January 22, 2025, he mentioned: "People want border security, but they want it to be done in a humane and organized way. Rounding up people and mass deportations is not the answer."

The following day, January 23, 2025, Congressman Landsman advocated for bipartisan efforts to improve border security and immigration systems. He tweeted: "Most people want Democrats and Republicans to work together to strengthen border security and fix the immigration system. Here’s how I think we can do that."
