Congressman Greg Landsman, representing Ohio’s 1st district, shared his views on the relationship between Denmark, Greenland, and the United States in a series of tweets on April 30, 2025. His comments focused on Denmark's historical role as a strategic partner and the potential for deeper collaboration with Greenland.

In a tweet posted on April 30, 2025, Landsman noted, "The truth is, Denmark has been one of our most reliable partners." He emphasized the longstanding alliance between the two nations.

Landsman further elaborated on the cooperative ties, stating in another tweet on April 30, 2025, "They’ve gone to war with us. They’ve invested in economic growth in our communities. They were a founding member of NATO and will take the presidency of the EU next year with a priority of European self-defense in five years. We need to treat them as the incredible partners." This statement underscores Denmark's active involvement and commitment to joint defense initiatives and economic collaboration.

Discussing Greenland, Landsman mentioned the historical military presence in a tweet on April 30, 2025. He stated, "As for Greenland, we went from 15 military bases to one since 1951. If we want to expand our partnership, militarily or economically, the door is wide open. They want to work with us more and have worked hard to keep China out. They are a proud part of the Kingdom of Denmark." This highlights potential opportunities for increased military and economic collaboration while appreciating Greenland's strategic importance in maintaining geopolitical balance.

Greg Landsman, born in Cincinnati in 1976, has represented Ohio’s 1st District since 2023 after succeeding Steve Chabot. He is an alumnus of Ohio University, where he obtained his Bachelor of Arts in 1999.
