Congressman Greg Landsman, representing Ohio's 1st district since 2023, recently shared his views on immigration and housing for foster youth through a series of tweets. Landsman, born in Cincinnati in 1976 and an alumnus of Ohio University, continues to advocate for policy changes in these areas.

On June 18, 2025, Landsman expressed concerns over the current state of the U.S. immigration system. He highlighted the story of Emerson, who "came to SW Ohio as a young boy," noting that he grew up and integrated into the community there. Landsman emphasized that Americans desire "a sensible, strategic, and humane immigration system," suggesting that the current system does not meet these expectations ("Americans want a sensible...").

In a subsequent tweet posted on the same day, Landsman questioned the effectiveness of deportation actions by stating: "His removal isn’t making any of us safer or better." This statement underscores his belief that such measures may not contribute positively to societal safety or well-being.

Later that day, Congressman Landsman discussed legislative efforts regarding foster youth housing. He introduced the bipartisan Campus Housing Affordability for Foster Youth Act, which aims to allow foster youth to use housing vouchers for campus living. Landsman expressed optimism about passing this legislation within the current Congress session ("Our bipartisan Campus Housing Affordability...").

As a representative from Cincinnati with a background rooted in local education and public service since taking office after Steve Chabot in 2023, Greg Landsman's focus remains on advocating for inclusive policies at both national and community levels.
