U.S. Congressman Greg Landsman, representing Ohio’s 1st district since 2023, publicly criticized recent legislative actions regarding funding cuts in a series of posts on July 18, 2025.

On his official account, Landsman stated, "They passed huge, sickening cuts to foreign aid." In a subsequent post the same day, he added, "…and yes, even public radio and TV. They are hugely important for every family, regardless of party. I was a hard no." Landsman further emphasized the significance of these investments by writing, "We’re going to not only have to fix this, but make the case for why these investments aren’t just the right thing to do…they’re critically important for our national security and global success…"

The comments from Landsman come after congressional approval of significant reductions in funding for both foreign aid and public broadcasting services. As an outspoken opponent of these measures, Landsman has positioned himself against bipartisan budgetary decisions affecting international assistance and domestic media resources.

Greg Landsman succeeded Steve Chabot as the representative for Ohio’s 1st district in 2023. Born in Cincinnati in 1976 and an alumnus of Ohio University with a Bachelor of Arts degree earned in 1999, he continues to reside in Cincinnati while serving his constituents.
