Congressman Greg Landsman, who represents Ohio’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress, has recently posted a series of tweets addressing labor strikes, federal funding for Head Start programs, and actions affecting food and contraception access.
On July 28, 2025, Landsman voiced support for striking workers with the Teamsters union. He wrote: "Terrible. Supporting @Teamsters across the country as they strike for the working conditions and pay they deserve."
Later that day, he criticized the current administration over decisions related to early childhood education funding. In his tweet from July 28, 2025, Landsman stated: "This administration withheld $12B in Head Start funding. Then the GAO, a government watchdog group called them on it. Thank goodness for the GAO…and Head Start "
The following day, on July 29, 2025, Landsman condemned reported destruction of resources intended for vulnerable groups. He tweeted: "They burned food meant for children and now contraception for women. What is wrong with these people?!"
Landsman's public statements come amid ongoing national debates about labor rights and federal social program funding. The Teamsters union has organized several high-profile strikes in recent years to address worker compensation and conditions.
Head Start is a longstanding federal program providing early childhood education to low-income families; any reduction or withholding of its funds has prompted concern among advocates and lawmakers alike.
Greg Landsman has represented Ohio’s 1st District since defeating Steve Chabot in 2023 and resides in Cincinnati where he was born in 1976. He graduated from Ohio University in 1999 with a BA degree.
