Through a series of tweets on April 15, 2025, he criticized statements made about fraud numbers in the system and outlined ongoing changes that could affect its future.

Landsman responded to remarks made by J.D. Vance by stating that Vance's comments about fraud in the Social Security system were untrue. He emphasized his argument by asserting that "J.D. Vance said 40% of the people calling into the Social Security system were committing fraud. That’s a lie and they’re using this misinformation to burn the system to the ground." (source)

He also addressed the issue about changes and cuts to Social Security in a subsequent tweet. He stated, "Congressional Republicans have introduced proposals to cut or privatize Social Security," signaling his concern about potential financial impacts on the system. (source)

The congressman commented on modifications affecting phone verification processes within the Social Security system, criticizing the inconvenience for seniors. He reported that, initially, seniors were required "to physically go into a field office" due to the removal of phone verification, and noted an intent to "close" these offices. Greg Landsman is currently serving in the U.S. Congress, representing Ohio’s 1st district. He replaced previous U.S Congress member Steve Chabot in 2023. Landsman graduated from Ohio University in 1999 with a BA and was born in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1976, where he currently resides.
