Congressman Greg Landsman, representing Ohio's 1st district, shared several thoughts on social media recently. His posts addressed local celebrations and concerns about healthcare policies affecting his constituents.

On May 13, 2025, Congressman Landsman marked a regional celebration with a brief message: "Happy #513Day SW Ohio ". This tweet reflects the community spirit associated with the area code of Southwest Ohio.

The following day, on May 14, 2025, he expressed concern over potential changes to Medicaid funding. He highlighted the case of a constituent named Aliyah who relies on Medicaid for essential medical equipment: "Aliyah is alive because of a breathing tube provided by Medicaid. Her mother is only able to work because of care provided by Medicaid. If they shift healthcare costs to the states, she could lose coverage because Ohio can no longer pay for all the care she needs." This post underscores his apprehension about shifting healthcare costs to states potentially impacting vulnerable residents in Ohio.

Later that same day, Congressman Landsman criticized proposed financial measures affecting low-income individuals' access to healthcare: "Charging low-income folks even more money to go to the hospital isn’t making Medicaid more 'sustainable' — it’s to take cash from them to help pay for tax cuts for the super wealthy. It’s awful." This statement highlights his opposition to policy changes that may disadvantage lower-income groups while benefiting wealthier citizens.

Greg Landsman has been serving in Congress since replacing Steve Chabot in 2023. Born in Cincinnati in 1976 and an alumnus of Ohio University, he continues to reside in Cincinnati while representing his district's interests at the national level.
