Congressman Greg Landsman, representing Ohio's 1st district since 2023, has been vocal about recent issues concerning federal workers. On May 23, 2025, he highlighted the plight of these workers through a series of tweets.

In his initial post on May 23, Landsman stated that "Federal workers are being indiscriminately fired – and they know firsthand what’s at stake, not just for their own lives, but for Americans who rely on vital federal services." He mentioned holding a press conference with residents from Southwest Ohio to allow them to share their experiences.

Following this, Landsman shared concerns expressed by an individual named Michael regarding layoffs at the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). According to Michael's statement on May 23, "Michael’s concerned that layoffs at the EPA will make it nearly impossible to carry out future solutions that protect public health."

Another tweet from Landsman on the same day relayed the situation faced by Paro. She received her layoff notice from the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) late one Friday evening. This unexpected development left her uncertain about her future in Southwest Ohio. As stated in his tweet: "Paro’s layoff notice from NIOSH came at 6:30 on a Friday night. Now she’s unsure about her future, her work, and even staying in SW Ohio – which she chose to call home for this job."
