Congressman Greg Landsman, representing Ohio's 1st district since 2023, has recently expressed his views on the ongoing legislative discussions surrounding antisemitism and criticism of Israel. In a series of tweets dated June 10, 2025, Landsman addressed various aspects of this sensitive issue.
In his first tweet, Congressman Landsman criticized Marjorie Taylor Greene for opposing a bill that he claims does not prohibit criticism of Israel. He stated, "It’s so important for Marjorie Taylor Greene to maintain this blood libel, and to do so without consequences, that she opposes this bill. Some on the Left suggest that the legislation prohibits criticism of Israel. It does not."
Continuing in another tweet posted moments later, Landsman urged his colleagues from both political sides to avoid politicizing the issue of antisemitism. He emphasized its importance as a nonpartisan matter by stating, "I would encourage my colleagues to stop politicizing this, on both sides. Our safety and wellbeing are at stake, and antisemitism should be a nonpartisan, non-controversial issue. The fact that it’s not says a lot."
In an additional tweet on the same day, Congressman Landsman provided an example concerning the Jewish community in Australia to illustrate the global challenges faced by Jews regarding antisemitism and relocation options. He explained, "Here’s an example that may help: There are 100,000 Jews in Australia. Antisemitism is surging there too. If they get kicked out, they only have one place they can go. Israel. That’s it. We’re not taking 100,000 Jews from Australia nor is any other country. Except Israel."
Greg Landsman's comments reflect his commitment to addressing antisemitism as a critical issue while urging bipartisan cooperation within Congress.
