Congressman Greg Landsman, who represents Ohio’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress, addressed several aspects of the ongoing conflict involving Hamas, Qatar, and humanitarian aid distribution in Gaza through a series of tweets on July 29, 2025.
In one post, Landsman highlighted the role of Hamas in the conflict: "2. Hamas is core to the problem. Not only did they commit the most barbaric terror attack ever, and built hundreds of miles of tunnels under hospitals and schools to protect themselves at the expense of Palestinian women and children. They steal food." (July 29, 2025).
He also pointed to Qatar's involvement: "4. Qatar is a huge barrier. They fund Hamas and continue to provide a safe haven for Hamas leaders." (July 29, 2025).
In another tweet from the same day, Landsman called for increased international cooperation regarding aid distribution in Gaza: "Please put pressure on the UN, too. Tell them to work with Israel to distribute aid and to reform its work in Gaza. They need to be both pro-Palestinian and pro-Israeli. They need to put Gaza first."
Landsman's comments come as he continues his term representing Ohio’s 1st District in Congress—a position he has held since replacing Steve Chabot in 2023. Born in Cincinnati in 1976, Landsman graduated from Ohio University with a BA in 1999 and resides in Cincinnati.
